September 11, 2001
When the horror of September 11, 2001 occurred we were living in upstate New York. We were about 3 hours north of the city in Saratoga Springs. Todd was still in the Navy and we were in Navy housing. Chace was home from school that day with pink eye. My friend called to see if I was watching the events unfold on TV, I wasn’t but quickly turned it on. I couldn’t even talk while watching, I was just dumbfounded! After several minutes of silence, I realized that I was holding the phone to my ear still even though my friend had hung up. I think our TV stayed on the different news channels the next couple of days straight. As more and more information was found out, I started gathering pictures and news articles with the intention of making a scrapbook. The more I thought about it, the more I knew I had to do it to preserve the events for future generations.
