Lae is a fanatic about strawberries. She could live on strawberries, I think. If that were the only thing left on the planet to eat, she would be a happy camper for the rest of her life. I bought some strawberries at Sam’s and when I got them home and started washing them I was amazed at the size of some of them. When Lael got home from school – she had to have some.
On Sunday the kids fished a little more and Caeden finally caught a few fish, he was quite happy. Bailey also had an adventure. She loves to explore, and will disappear so quickly. She LOVES being at the lake, I mean really loves it. She thinks it is the coolest place, all the new smells and stuff, she just goes crazy when we arrive and any time we are outside, her nose is to the ground.Â
Today I got a few pictures of everybody fishing. Caeden and Lael were not happy because they weren’t catching many. Todd and Chace were reeling them in, one after another. I also got some pictures of the beautiful sunset. I had planned on taking several as the sun started to set, but once it started – man, it went fast!
We’ve really been enjoying going to the lake. There is still plenty of work to be done, and each time we go we do a bit more. This is the first time I’ve seen the hardwood floor complete. That was a huge job and everybody involved is glad it is finished. This is the kitchen and living room.
This is also the first time that the twins got to ride in Poppy’s boat. They absolutely loved it. You could hear them hooting & hollering all across the lake.
One day after school Aimee started snapping pictures with her new camera. I am so jealous of her camera, it is so fabulous! Her yard is the first place the kids stop, to climb the tree, to play tag, turn cartwheels etc. She got some awesome pictures of the twins today.
I have been wanting to paint ever since we moved in. All of the walls in our house were/are boring builders beige. I bought paint for the kitchen several months ago and just never made the time to paint. It is Fragant Cloves, by Olympic paints, a beautiful deep orange/red/rust color. After painting a bit, I decided it would be too much for the entire kitchen walls. So, I found a warm light brown, Warm Brown Sugar, also by Olympic and used the orange on the bottom of the chair rail and the brown over the top.Â
After painting the kitchen and LOVING it, I decided to keep going with the Living Room. Choosing this color was quite a bit harder than the kitchen. I wanted a yellow, but not school bus yellow. Plus it had to coordinate nicely with the kitchen colors since they are adjoining walls. After several trips back and forth to Lowes with a little mixing and re-mixing, finally – a color that works.
Lael has oodles of dress-up clothes. She could invite all the girls from the 2nd grade and each one could wear a different outfit complete with accessories. Most of the clothes were given to her by her cousins and some purchased by us. She doesn’t really get into dress-up that much, but when she does, she does it up big. She also insists on a fashion show each time. This time I got out the camera and snapped pictures of her different outfits.
This week is Dr. Suess Week at Columbia. They are doing fun stuff all week long. Today was Whimsical Word Day. The students were supposed to choose a word and then dress up as that word. Lael chose the word comfortable. She wore pajamas, houseshoes and her Snuggie. She and Caeden got Snuggies for Christmas and love to wrap up in them on the couch. I wasn’t sure how it would work wrapped around Lael all day at school but she was adamant. 
A snowy day in March? Aren’t we living in Alabama now? The weather report called for snow today and the kids were way excited, they just knew that meant another day out of school. When we woke up this morning, it was really coming down. I figured Madison would cancel as well. But, they didn’t – school was still on. It came down really hard for a while, got a couple of inches, but then started melting rapidly as the morning went on.Â
